1/2" Stainless Steel Female x Male G Thread Extension Pipe Nipple — Extend or Reposition Any Pipe Run

Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and DIY homeowners often run into the same problem: a pipe end that's just a few inches too short, or a valve that needs to be repositioned without rerouting the entire line. Reaching for a generic galvanized nipple that rusts out within a season isn't the answer. These 1/2" stainless steel female x male G thread extension pipe nipples give you a corrosion-resistant, thread-matched solution that installs in minutes and holds up for years.

Each extension nipple features a female G (internal) thread on one end and a male G (external) thread on the other, with a hex body for wrench grip. Material is stainless steel — a corrosion-resistant alloy widely used in plumbing, food processing, and industrial piping. Available in six lengths: 10mm (≈3/8"), 15mm (≈19/32"), 20mm (≈25/32"), 25mm (≈1"), 30mm (≈1-3/16"), 40mm (≈1-9/16"), and 50mm (≈2"). Order as a single piece or in multi-packs of 2, 3, 5, or 10. A 12mm wrench accessory is also available as an add-on variant.

These fittings are well-suited for extending water supply lines behind walls or under sinks, repositioning shutoff valves or pressure gauges in tight spaces, and connecting inline components in compressed air or irrigation manifold systems where a stainless steel female-to-male G thread pipe extension is required.

🔗 Compatibility: 1/2" G thread (BSP parallel) standard — female end accepts a 1/2" male G thread fitting; male end threads into a 1/2" female G thread port. Not compatible with NPT threads without an adapter. Always apply PTFE tape or pipe thread compound before assembly.

✅ Key Features of These Stainless Steel Female x Male G Thread Extension Pipe Nipples

  • 🔄Female × Male Thread Configuration — One female (internal) G thread end and one male (external) G thread end let you extend an existing pipe run or reposition a connection point without changing thread gender on either side of the joint — a configuration that standard hex nipples cannot provide.
  • 🛡️Stainless Steel Construction — Resists rust, oxidation, and corrosion from water, mild chemicals, and outdoor exposure. A durable choice for both indoor plumbing and exterior installations where galvanized or brass fittings tend to corrode over time.
  • 📐Seven Length Options — 10mm to 50mm — Fine-grained length selection from 10mm (≈3/8") to 50mm (≈2") lets you dial in the exact extension needed rather than improvising with longer fittings or extra couplings that add leak points to the system.
  • 🔩Hex Body for Wrench Grip — The machined hexagonal center section allows full torque application with a standard wrench, making installation and future removal straightforward in tight or hard-to-reach spaces.
  • 📦Flexible Multi-Pack Quantities — Available in 1, 2, 3, 5, or 10-piece packs. Buy a single piece for a one-off repair or stock up for a larger plumbing project or maintenance kit — per-unit cost decreases with larger quantities.
  • 🏭Machined G Threads for Consistent Engagement — Threads are cut to G thread specification for consistent engagement depth and reliable sealing across all length variants, reducing the risk of cross-threading or incomplete engagement that can cause leaks in pressurized systems.
⚠️ Note: The "Wrench (12mm)" variant is a hand tool accessory, not a pipe nipple. If you need only the pipe fitting, select a length variant (10mm–50mm). Confirm your pipe thread standard is 1/2" G thread before ordering.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose the right extension nipple length?

Measure the gap between your existing female fitting and the male connection point you need to reach. The nipple length should bridge that gap with enough thread engagement on both ends — typically at least 3–4 full thread turns per end. Available lengths range from 10mm (≈3/8") to 50mm (≈2"). If you need a longer extension, consider stacking two nipples with a coupling.

What is the pressure rating of these extension nipples?

Stainless steel G thread extension nipples generally handle working pressures up to 150 PSI for water and air service at ambient temperature. Actual ratings depend on wall thickness, temperature, and the fluid being conveyed. For steam or high-pressure applications, please contact us to confirm suitability before ordering.

Are these nipples suitable for outdoor or corrosive environments?

Yes. Stainless steel offers good resistance to rust, oxidation, and many corrosive media, making it suitable for outdoor plumbing, irrigation systems, and light industrial environments. For highly chlorinated water or saltwater-immersion applications, 316 stainless steel is generally recommended over 304.

What thread standard do these fittings use — G thread or NPT?

These extension nipples use G thread (BSP Parallel, ISO 228), the standard widely used in Europe, Asia, and many international markets. The female end accepts a male G thread fitting and the male end threads into a female G thread port. They are not compatible with NPT (National Pipe Taper) threads without an adapter.

Do I need thread sealant with these fittings?

Yes. G thread parallel threads require sealant for a leak-free connection. PTFE (Teflon) tape or a liquid pipe thread compound is typically applied to the male threads before assembly. This applies to both the male end of the nipple and any male fitting you thread into the female end. Thread sealant is not included.

What is the difference between a female x male nipple and a standard hex nipple?

A standard hex nipple has male threads on both ends and is used to connect two female fittings. A female x male extension nipple has a female (internal) thread on one end and a male (external) thread on the other, allowing you to extend an existing male pipe end or reposition a connection point without changing the thread gender on either side of the joint.

What is the "Wrench (12mm)" variant and do I need it?

The Wrench (12mm) variant is a 12mm hand tool accessory sized to fit the hex body of these fittings, sold as a convenient add-on. It is not a pipe nipple. If you only need the pipe fitting, select one of the length variants (10mm through 50mm). If you don't already have a 12mm wrench in your toolkit, adding one makes installation easier in tight spaces.

Both threads are not NPT

The fittings themselves seemed good except the female threads were not NPT. They were fpt ( straight ) threads not tapered like npt so they did not work. About to initiate a return. The add is deceiving. I was able to find brass ones that worked out

Hi Charles, thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear the threads didn't meet your expectations. We'll review the product details to ensure clarity. If you need any assistance, please reach out to us. We appreciate your understanding.
