TC-type skeleton oil seals are generally designed for low-to-medium pressure applications, typically rated for static pressures up to around 0.05 MPa. Use a seal driver or flat press plate sized to the O.D. to press the seal in squarely and evenly. Never hammer directly on the seal lip or body. Lightly lubricate the primary lip with clean oil before installation. Ensure the shaft surface is smooth (typically Ra ≤ 0.8 µm) and free of burrs, nicks, or sharp edges that could cut the lip during installation or operation.

TC seals have two sealing lips — a primary oil lip and a secondary dust/dirt exclusion lip — making them suitable for environments where contamination ingress is a concern.
