🔩 M3–M12 Torx Button Head Screws – A2 Stainless Steel, Star Drive, Fully Threaded (4–110mm Lengths)

You’re bolting down a machine guard, installing marine hardware, or assembling outdoor furniture – and you want a screw that won’t rust, won’t cam‑out, and sits flush with a low profile. These Torx button head screws are made from A2 stainless steel (304) for excellent corrosion resistance. The Torx star drive virtually eliminates bit slip, even under high torque, and the low, rounded button head provides a clean, snag‑free finish. Fully threaded from 4mm up to 110mm under the head. Available in M3, M4, M5, M6, M8, M10, and M12 diameters. Ideal for industrial machinery, electronics enclosures, furniture, and marine applications where both strength and a sleek appearance matter.

✨ Key Features – Torx Button Head Machine Screws (A2 Stainless)

  • 🔘 Button head (dome) design – Low profile with a wide bearing surface. Sits close to the material, reducing snag hazards and giving a clean look.
  • Torx (star) drive – Six‑lobe recess eliminates cam‑out, allows higher torque transfer, and distributes force evenly – perfect for power tools.
  • 🛡️ A2 stainless steel (304) – Excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance. Durable, long‑lasting, and won’t rust in outdoor or humid environments.
  • 📏 Metric sizes M3 to M12 – Seven popular diameters from small electronics to heavy machinery. Fully threaded for maximum grip.
  • 📐 Lengths from 4mm to 110mm (under head) – Wide range to suit thin panels or thick assemblies. Fully threaded on all lengths.
  • 🏭 Widely used – Furniture, chemical plants, wind power, home appliances, office equipment, electronics, shipbuilding, and communications.
  • 💪 High strength & durability – 304 stainless offers excellent toughness and deformation resistance over long‑term use.

📋 Why Torx Button Head Screws?

Feature Benefit
Torx drive No cam‑out – the bit stays fully engaged under high torque. Reduces damage to screw recess and driver bits.
Button head Low profile, domed top. Ideal for applications where head protrusion must be minimized (e.g., machine guards, handrails).
A2 stainless steel Corrosion resistant, non‑magnetic, strong. Suitable for food equipment, marine, and outdoor use.
Fully threaded Maximum thread engagement in blind holes or when using nuts. No weak unthreaded shank.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions – Torx Button Head Screws

1. How do I measure the length of a button head screw?

For button head screws, length is measured from the underside of the head (the flat bearing surface) to the tip. The head itself is NOT included. So an “M6 x 20mm” screw has a 20mm long threaded shaft under the head. All lengths in our table follow this standard.

2. Are these screws fully threaded? What about long lengths like 110mm?

Yes – all M3 to M12 screws in this range, up to 110mm length, are fully threaded from under the head to the tip. This gives you maximum grip even in deep blind holes.

3. Can I use these screws outdoors or in saltwater?

A2 stainless (304) is highly corrosion‑resistant and suitable for outdoor use, including garden furniture, coastal areas, and freshwater marine applications. For continuous saltwater immersion, we recommend A4 (316) stainless, but for most general outdoor and industrial use, A2 is excellent and will not rust.

4. What Torx bit size do I need for each screw?

Approximate matching: M3 (T8), M4 (T10), M5 (T15), M6 (T20), M8 (T25), M10 (T30), M12 (T40). Always use a quality Torx bit that fits snugly to avoid stripping the recess.

5. Can I use these screws with a nut, or do they need a tapped hole?

Both – these are machine screws. They can be threaded into pre‑tapped holes of the same metric size (e.g., M6 tapped hole) or used with standard metric hex nuts. They are not self‑tapping. For wood or plastic, drill a pilot hole and use a nut or threaded insert.

6. What’s the difference between a button head and a pan head?

A button head has a lower, more rounded profile than a pan head. It protrudes less above the surface, making it ideal for tight clearances and reducing snag risk. Both provide a wide bearing surface, but button heads are the preferred choice for low‑profile applications.
