💻 Ultra Thin Flat Wafer Head Machine Screws – M2 M2.5 M3 M4, Black Zinc or Nickel Plated, for Laptops & Electronics

You’re repairing a laptop, mounting a thin PCB, or assembling a compact electronic device – and a standard pan head screw would stick out too far. These ultra‑low profile wafer head screws are designed for tight clearances. The flat, wide head sits just above the surface with minimal height, giving you a clean finish without protruding into components. Made from carbon steel with black zinc or nickel plating, they resist corrosion and look professional. Phillips drive works with standard crosshead screwdrivers. Available in M2, M2.5, M3, and M4 diameters, with lengths from 3mm to 16mm (measured under the head). Fully threaded for maximum grip. Perfect for laptops, tablets, small appliances, and any space‑constrained assembly.

✨ Key Features – Flat Wafer Head Phillips Screws (Ultra Thin Profile)

  • 🔘 Flat wafer head design – Extremely low profile with a wide, flat bearing surface. Ideal for applications with minimal headroom, such as laptop casings and slim enclosures.
  • Black zinc or nickel plating – Choose matte black for a stealth look or bright nickel for a classic silver finish. Both provide good corrosion resistance.
  • 📐
Phillips drive – Standard cross recess works with common screwdrivers. Good torque transfer.
  • 📏 Metric sizes M2, M2.5, M3, M4 – Perfect for small electronics, laptops, and precision instruments.
  • 📐 Lengths from 3mm to 16mm (under head) – Fully threaded for maximum grip in thin materials.
  • 💪 Carbon steel (Grade 4.8) – Strong and durable. Plating protects against rust in indoor and light outdoor use.
  • 🔧 Widely used – Laptops, tablets, smartphones, small appliances, office equipment, and electronic devices.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions – Flat Wafer Head Screws

1. What is a wafer head screw? How is it different from a pan head?

A wafer head (also called flat wafer head) is an ultra‑low profile screw with a wide, flat top. It sits much closer to the surface than a standard pan head – often just 0.6–1.0mm tall. This makes it ideal for tight spaces like laptop lids or slim electronic enclosures where a taller screw would interfere with other components.

2. How do I measure the length of a wafer head screw?

For pan head and wafer head screws, length is measured from the underside of the head to the tip. The head itself is NOT included. So an “M3 x 6mm” screw has a 6mm long threaded shaft under the head.

3. Are these screws fully threaded?

Yes – all M2 to M4 screws in this range (up to 16mm length) are fully threaded from under the head to the tip, giving you maximum grip even in shallow holes.

4. Will the black zinc or nickel plating rust? Can I use these outdoors?

Both finishes provide good corrosion resistance for indoor use and occasional light outdoor exposure. For continuous outdoor or marine environments, we recommend stainless steel. These are best for laptops, electronics, and indoor appliances.

5. What Phillips screwdriver size do I need for M2, M2.5, M3, M4?

For M2 and M2.5, use a #000 or #00 Phillips. For M3, a #0 works well. For M4, a #1 Phillips is appropriate. Always use a driver that fits snugly to avoid cam‑out and head damage.

6. Do you offer these screws in M5 or M6 sizes?

This listing covers M2 to M4. We also carry larger wafer head screws (M5, M6) in our store – please check other listings or contact us.
