A piece of wood with a stuck screw or nail

Instructions

Secure the Grip

Open the wrench jaws and place them firmly around the head of the screw or nail.

Lock the Jaws

Adjust the thumbwheel until the jaws are tight against the fastener to prevent slipping.

Establish a Pivot Point

Position the head of the wrench so that its outer edge rests against the surface of the wood.

Apply Force

Grasp the handle and pull it backward, using the wrench head as a fulcrum.

Extract

The mechanical advantage created by the handle length will pull the fastener straight out of the material.
