The Pro Way to Drive Nails into PVC Conduit Safely

Step 1: Pre-Start the Nail

Place your PVC conduit track in position. Start by lightly tapping the mounting nail into the surface through the track's mounting slot, driving it just enough so it stands upright on its own.

Step 2: Prep the Shield Tool

Take a standard sleeve anchor bolt, remove the nut, and slide the outer metal sleeve off the threaded bolt. Place this empty metal sleeve directly over the standing nail inside the conduit channel.

Step 3: Drive it Flush Without Damage

Insert the threaded bolt back into the sleeve upside down (cone-end facing up). Strike the top of the bolt firmly with your hammer. The impact will drive the nail fully into place underneath, while the sleeve protects the surrounding PVC tracking from any direct hammer blows.
